A letter to Pooh

To my little Pooh Bear,

I think the world stood still and smiled the moment you came into my world. You have brought more joy and happiness than I could ever have imagined.

They say a child is a story yet to be told, and I believe your story is going to top the best seller list. Everyday with you I feel like I remember a small piece of what it was like to be so fresh and new and full of wonder. I never believed one could find amazement...but I see that you do. and you do truly amaze me at every turn.

Mommy has wanted a little one for as long as she could remember, and she had to kiss a few frogs

and one very large toad before she found a prince among men in your daddy. I see everyday the love your daddy has for you, and the hopes I know he holds for you. He will be your teacher, and your coach, your drill sergant and your biggest fan. I am in awe sometimes because I know at some point you and he will have a special bond that will have a sign "no girls allowed".

I'm am so excited for the life of possibilites that lie before you my little man. That nothing is impossible, and that I will be proud...and excited for whatever makes you truly happy.

There is only a small list pooh, of things that I wish for you in this journey that you are embarking upon...

I wish you serenity in times of trial

I wish you peace in times of war

I wish you love, when you feel indifference or hate

I wish you faith, when you feel alone

I wish you hope, when you feel lost

I wish you courage, when you feel scared

I wish you confidence, when you feel lacking

I wish you humility, when you feel arrogant

I wish you compassion, when you feel callous

I want you to know that in life, it isn't what you go through, but how you go through it....

As the Great Winnie the Pooh said once:
"Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known."

I want you to know that no matter where you go on your journey, your family will be there to share in all the triumphs and defeats...and there will be both...

Just know my darling, baby boy ...if nothing else....that your mommy will love you forever....and ever and ever and ever....and evermore....

Love

Mommy

Sniff, sniff... no fair making other mommies weepy:)I have two teen boys now (and an 8 year old daughter) and I can honestly say that as much as they love bonding with dad they talk to me about the "emotional" stuff and they are still my boys. Okay, I can hold them and kiss their tummy like when they were babies, but still...BAHAHAHAHAHA

Greetings from a SITSa! What a lovely letter. I suggest printing and taping up somewhere you can see it regularly. There will be days, if they haven't happened already, when it's tough to keep it in perspective. Your own beautiful words can help you through it.
