What's Better about the Superbowl....the Commercials or the Food?

I guess the game is always important too right??? But you know you always look forward to stuffing your face with unhealthy goodness....and seeing what $26 million pays in ad space......

This superbowl.....my football loving....buddy....has had to leave me....in order to work the game....(if you just watched the flyover at the end of the national anthem).....

I guess Homeland Security is afraid that a someone or someones might perhaps want to create a national spectacle out of our love of the game.....so as we are enjoying our food....and commercials...and some good ole fashioned rough housing.....Juice....his plane...and a bunch of others are patroling the friendly skies.....(at least there is DVR)....

But....even though it's Pooh and I this evening.....I still find it quite in the spirit of the evening to stuff my face.....and...what better way to add on a few extra pounds....

then my Superb...Homemade...Superbowl Pizza Rolls....(the store bought kind ain't got nothin on these puppies)....

What you need to make any man salivate with glee....

24-30 pepperoni slices

1 can prepared crescent rolls

1 pkg shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can or jar of ready made pizza sauce

(italian seasoning and garlic powder optional)

Step 1....unroll your crescent rolls...and seperate into the 8 pre cut triangles....press down on them to make them thinner than normal

place a good amount of cheese and 3 pepperoni slices on each fat end of the triangle and roll fat end to skinny....making your normal crescent roll...if you have renegade cheese on the pan...that's okay....it makes an added yum factor when you press the escapees intoo the next roll while you are pressing....

bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes...until brown and gooey

meanwhile...heat the pizza sauce in a small saucepan.....I add a little Italian seasoning and Garlic powder to make it taste a little less canned....and more homemade....(channeling Sandra Lee here)

When they are done....all you need to do is serve....

Umm......Luckily I'm typing this...cause my mouth is full......and even Pooh got a little nibble or two....It's his first game...so gotta get him off on the right foot....

So here's to happy watching....and eating....and sorry honey....I really don't think there will be any left for when you get home.....

Oh yum! We had to nix the football food today. Well, the kids got some goodies but I had to refrain. Stupid diet.

I saw that flyover. So cool! Oh. And didn't J Hudson kill (in a GOOD way) the National Anthem? Wow!

Enjoy your pizza rolls and have an extra one for me!

No snack food here. We had our fill yesterday at the birthday party. Just yogurt here. We are boring.

We ate everything that wasn't nailed down and even a few things that were glued down. From guac to processed cheese. Ahhh...football season is over!

Hope you had a good time with your Pooh bear.

those look yummy! since we miss not having a T.J.I.Fridays anywhere near us...we got a ton of their frozen appetizers and pigged out! not as good as the real thing...but worked for Superbowl!

so our love stories are completely opposite....but the same! I didn't marry Dave, my first kiss and first high school boyfriend, the first time around. Stupid me! But I was lucky to find him {again} for the second and forever time around!

Superbowl Homemade Pizza rolls will be making an appearance on my dinner table in the near future. Thanks for the great recipe. It meets all of my pre-requisites: tasty, easy, and not super light on calories. Hooray!

I also spent some time reading your sidebar. Your profile description is one for the record books. Super funny! I am adding you to our reader. Don't want to miss any posts from you in the future.
