It's about Giving Up....

Really it is....

I'm one of those people....that fight hard....just ask Juice....he'd rather shut up and color...but there I am hiding the crayons because I'm wanting to hash it out....no surrender....and no art projects.

"Just let the poor man go and color"

I have and do apply this same mantra to almost every other aspect of my life....with regards to Parenting, Pooh-milestones, my Etsy shop....even my own personal fitness goals....

"ahem...that's stretching it a little don'tcha think?"

okay...so almost everything.....

There are those things though that I have been fighting so hard for....but feel I'm pushing up against a 6 foot 5...350 lb hungarian wrestler named Istvan....

Pooh's nap schedule....has been something I have been fighting with for weeks....two naps....one nap....no nap....two naps....1/2 a nap......and as with a hungarian wrestler....I was getting my butt kicked....hard core....

and my Etsy Shop.....I completely understand it's about promoting yourself....no pain...no gain....and I've been promoting out the wazoo...between particpating in events....providing items for giveaways....listing...and relisting....I gave ole Istvan another kung-fu mommy move....but still getting body slammed...and the peoples elbow in the ribs.....

So last week I decided.....I Give Up.....Istvan you win.....I'm not fighting with you anymore....I'm taking my leotard and going home.....

Too bad Juice isn't here....he'd love to hear me say I'm not fighting anymore....(sorry hunny not sure if that statement will apply to you....)

But with regards to nap....and business....I've decided....mentally I'm not fighting it anymore...

If Pooh naps...he naps....if he doesn't....he doesn't.....eventually we will get on a schedule that works for us....and you know what...we are getting there....I'm seeing more routine.....and less chaos....

Then there was Etsy....I had to get to the point where I just couldn't do it....I came to the decision that I'll promote when I want....how I want....and that the sales will come....just stopping fighting it....

and when I did....I received an inquiry about a possible wholesale opportunity.....which was beyond what I had thought could happen....

I'm starting to think there is something to this Giving it up......I re-phrase it......Giving up just doesn't sound right...because that's really not what I'm doing....

I'm just thinking it's time to give peace a chance.....

************************************************************************************

And to Help Me In Giving it up
(Cause this is definitely not wrestling Big Hungarian type music)
.....and get me in the mood for flip flops...and dare I say bikini season?....ehhhhh maybe tankini season.....(less of a stretch)

Here is some Mungo Jerry (they know Summertime)
....and my 10 fave blogs reads for the week....

Niceeeeeeeeee!!!!!

As far as naps go I think the best thing is to let the change from 2 to 1 happen on its own.

I was looking around your shop the other day and your stuff is way cute, hang in there it will work out!

I LOVE your stuff too!!!!!! You need to come up with little printed notecards to go with the sets that say where it's from, and something cute about you! =) That way people that recieve them as gifts know where to get them to give to others! Hang in tehre indeed- you are awesomely creative!!!!!! ;) I get you on the nap thing too! Lately K's been only wanting to sleep 1 hour a day- NO CLUE why!!!!! And today he woke up at 530 AM! argh! I hope the wholesale thing works out!!! It's usually when you stop trying to control your nice little life that God actually helps out by making it just the way it should be. You have to let him have the worry and control instead! ;) Can't tell you how many times in my life I've seen that happen!!!! ;) Smooches baby! =)

Congrats on the possible wholesale gig!
Nice!

As for the naps, Cheeks is down to one. Usually about 3 hours so there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I was reading your Bio. My youngest daughter had really bad acid reflux, almost to the point of hospitalization. it was really scary, even my breast milk wouldn't stay down. So after months of different formulas, prescription formulas at $50 a can she was old enough to try solids, I made everything FRESH. Even the food I took to daycare! Reflux gone! its amazing how making tier food helps their bodies and your pocket!

I'm currently facing potty training with my daughter. I cleaned up pee from my bedroom floor this morning. I'm totally in that wrestling ring with you!

New to your blog, congrats on the featured blog. I like that you are a military wife, Mommy of one, and have AZ & OK roots (me too). Good luck with the wholesale gig!

So how do you do this "Giving Up" thing? Seriously... I feel like I'm half-assed at it right now. I care then don't care about promoting my blog, don't know why I want to promote my blog in the first place, thinking about Etsy shop making all the time, working out, not working out, blah blah blah. You get it.

But please, tell me how to give up! hahha

Don't give up. Keep up the fight. It will pay off eventually. If I could, I would have my 16 year old still napping.

I love this post. Three cheers for giving up and I love your feature. I hope that little splash of promotion helps too ;) My Etsy shop is slow too. I don't list right now. I took a break and have only listed for charity. Hugs, Jen
