The Beginning....and hopefully the end

I Warn you now....the below picture may be disturbing to some....and it is advised to keep small children out of the room when viewing...

Today....is the first day I noticed...my toes look like this......EEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How on earth....did I not notice the awful....disturbing....down right shameful condition of my poor little tootsie's.....

This question of course led to others...."when's the last time I had the oil changed"....."did I pay the mortgage this month"....."have I recently shaved my arm pits".....'where's the Baby"......

After making sure all above questions were accounted for.....I had to take a long look at myself in the mirror....Hello wake up call.....

"Hello?"

"Yes....this is your former self calling...and I've had some disturbing news recently that you've been neglecting our fabulous....sassy....dare I say sexy self"

"Yeah...well I just noticed it myself....I mean...I've been so busy with the baby....and Juice being deployed...and well....I guess I just made you take a back seat...."

"Well honey....that may be the case....but it ain't happenin ANYmore....I hang out with large group of other "former selves"...and can I just say....that we can't take it anymore.....You new selves....wearing your baggy sweats....letting the hair dryer gather dust....not getting your eyebrows waxed....and What is that awful thing you wear to sleep at night?.....Seriously"

"I know I know....so what do you suggest?...."

"I suggest you start taking care of you.....it's the little things together...that add up to one Fierce mama...and the return of my good reputation....now...I want you to go get yourself together woman....stop dawdling....

"got it.....hair....makeup.....cute outfit...."

"and damn it....paint your toes".....

I'm finding this pregnancy that I WANT to put on clothes, not just wear what I wore to bed, on during the day. I don't always want to wear make-up (for whatever reason, I get acne at the end of my pregnancies). And I usually still wear my hair in a ponytail but maybe about half the time I do like "doing" my hair (putting gel in it) but it ends up back in the pony due to HEAT.

But good for you! Take YOU time. Every mommy book out there will tell you that you can't take care of others if you don't first take care of yourself!

Stopping by via SITS. Gotta say, I find you hysterical...and easy to relate to. Honestly, you should see my shabby toes...it's sad.

I LOVE this post...this is so ME! I can't even begin to tell you how bad my closet, my legs, my toes, my hands, my hair....all look. I'm turning into my own mop, or dish rag, or something.

But hooray for me, at least I have lost 35 pounds so far this year!

I too was suffering from unpainted toes and I realized yesterday!

I'm surprised my toes are still painted and barely chipped - I painted them well over a month ago. The callouses on my feet... well, lets just say I think you are not alone in the "mommy needs to find her former sexy self" category!

sandal season is always a big wake up call..

Plus, I almost scared everyone at the pool yesterday when I exposed my blindingly white casper feet :D

It happens to all of now. I used to get my toes done every other Monday like church on Sundays. But hubby lost job, I have cutbacks at the store, so the manny peddys had to go. I dare share that mine probably look that bad too!

My goodness you are preaching the choir! I have been thinking the same thing while looking in the mirror lately. It is hard to keep up with everything and the first thing I let slip is myself!

Lol... Right there with you... When I have to ask hubby "When was the last time you saw my bra and where the heck was it?" I know that I need to straighten this hair, put on a little makeup and a cute outfit (bra included) and go hang out with my girlfriends a bit... Oh and pants would be helpful too (damn these pregnancy hormones that make me feel like I am sitting in Hades)!
