The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...And Lemonade Stands...

I might have just made this post a Wordless Wednesday...but who am I kidding...being silent is definitely not one of my strong points...So I ix-nayed that idea before it even left the confines of my brain...

The Question I pose is this...What do you get when you cross a rambuncious, food loving, German Shepard...whose nickname has changed from Punk Punk to Doggie Destructo...with a rambuncious, newly mobilized baby, whose nickname has changed from Pooh to Baby Destructo?

What you get...my dear friends is a classic western showdown...a gun toting...tabacci chewing...hip swaggering showdon...that even Ole Clint Eastwood would be proud of. It was like when the stare down began....the heavens parted ...and the theme song to the Good the Bad and the Ugly began to play....I thought I maybe heard Juice behind me whisper..."Not till you see the whites of their eyes..." Should I duck for cover....should I stare and watch???

It was by far the most interesting of the new mommy learning experiences I had so far...Having thought I had successfully baby proofed the house for any occurance...but with Mr. and Ms. Destructo staring across the Kitchen at each other.... with Punk Punk's food bowl as the prize....
I suddenly realized how very very wrong I was...(hmmm...they don't talk about this situation in the baby handbooks.)
It was amazing how they each waited for the other to make the first move...like a pint sized game of chicken....Pooh jumped on it...and started motor boating his tiny diapered tush towards the prize....swish, swish....swish, swish...
Amazingly Punky stayed where she was...probably trying to decide if he was for real...or just bluffing and would as soon as he reached her coveted food...take a hard right...and say..."ha...fooled you"....
Soon enough though, she must have realized he was serious about partaking in her morning meal...and she decided enough was enough

Long story short...even though Punky got to the food bowl first (I think it's mainly because she has longer legs and nose)....She was extremely gracious in allowing Pooh to taste her lamb and rice flavored morsels....ahhhh...how sweet...oh wait...Get that dog food out of your mouth....
So Now to eliminate any future...shall we say culinary experimentations....we feed the baby...and the dogs at the same time....well, unless we want to replay our favorite western again.....waaaaa...wa.wa.wa......

And to Make my Day Even Brighter....I was given an amazing award from

You sure know how to make a woman's day! I have been feeling bummed all day (until now) due to putting back on 1 1/2 pounds that I lost. Instead of sulking in the sourness of it all, I'm off to walk! Thank you!

Your Punk Punk/Pooh story had me cracking up! You told the story so great and I got the best visual! LOL

Well comgrats on the award and thank you for passing it on to me. That's funny. I understand the "destructo" nickname for pooh because I have one in my house too. Monkey ate some of our friends cat food recently...luckily the cat wasn't around to battle her for it!

Leave it to dogs and toddlers to make a mom feel like a mere mortal!

I think your dog just learned where she/ he I can't remember sits on the totem pole of the pack. Every time we have a new grand baby our dog is like really?

If it makes you feel better, my son tasted dirt, sand and bark by the time he could walk. He rarely tries a new actual food item, but he'll eat everything he shouldn't.

I have an award for you too!! Come on by and get it!

Too funny! Love the story! Aiden is no longer interested in the dog food, instead our dog now stands next to him while he's eating waiting for him to drop something! Congrats on your award!
