Did Someone Say FREE Nursery?

Oh yes they did.....and I double checked to make sure that Ashton Kutcher was not the one sending me the email....

Being an Ex-Career Woman......who loves her Jimmy Choo's......it has been let us just say an adjustment on becoming a more budget friendly....."do I really need this" person....The hubby? Now here's a guy who has NEVER owned a credit card.....saves for the things he wants....and thinks Citizens for Humanity is a non profit group......

To say that converting from a two household income....to a one household income has been easy.....is a HUGE "hell no"......it hasn't....I've had to learn to like coupon cutting.....am beginning to have an appreciation for Power hours...and Kohl's Cash.......and am a stickler about anything to do with saving a dollar.....Who knew?

When we found out we were expecting our second little bundle of joy.....we began the mental budgeting.....and list making......"how much for a double stroller"....."April we can buy the nursery"...."good thing we saved most of Noah's clothes..."

So you could have knocked me over with a wet wipe last week, when I learned that we were eligable to receive a FREE nursery from Operation Homefront.....Operation what-front? Yeah I'm so not the most with it Military wife you will ever find?

Operation Homefront is a non-profit organization that was created to help with emergancy and morale needs of military members and their families. They provide everything from Financial assistance to food donations...to celebrating military wives and Children.....it is amazing the how many ways this organization can help service members and their families....

So Last Thursday....with bells on, I went and picked up our Fabulous Nursery...complete with Crib, Changing Table and Choice of Bedding......If I wasn't dealing with a large load in front would probably done a back flip ....or at least a cartwheel......

Can I just say what an experience picking up this nursery was? First came the question of "do you have documentation of your pregnancy?"....which was followed by me pointing to my very large....very pregnant belly and asking "does this count?".....

Then we had the Local Paper there to take lots of pictures....and even interview me for the article they were posting.....I knew I should have worn some makeup that day.....

Finally....after two strapping guys spent 20 minutes strapping the crib to the roof of my car.....did I notice that my door was tied shut....and I was so not getting a picture taken of me trying to squeeze my pregnant butt through my window....though I'm sure it would have sold more papers.....

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Operation Homefront for allowing us to receive this generous gift.....Looking around there are those who I feel deserve it more than we do.....We have an amazing home and could have bought our nursery on our own....but to have this given to us....will just make buying the rest of the things we need that much easier.....

Now if only I could get out of labor.........

Being on the receiving end of good deeds is sometimes so hard...but so important! You will definitely smile every time you see that nursery and be reminded of that special feeling you received being on the receiving end. You definitely deserve it! Thank you and your family for serving our country!
