Mommy is so Not Macgyver....

It happened....It finally happened....and I have to at least give myself some credit that it took 2 years 1 month and 5 days for it to happen....

The day came when I would forget to restock the diaper bag with diapers. Now that in and of itself...No big deal right? Right....However....It also had to be the day that we were waiting in the waiting room of the OBGYN for an hour.....throw in one massively stinky poo....so bad the receptionist came from around the corner on her own accord to show me the way to the bathroom....

and top it off that it took me until after the mega poo diaper was removed....to notice we were diaperless.....

Great....so what would MacGyver do? Well I don't think that a q-tip, a rubber duck and soap on a rope will get me out of this one.....so I first began with wads of paper towel....Yeah, Noah was so not having that one....poor little guy was walking around like he had the worst wedgie of his life.....

Ah-Ha....the feminine Hygine Dispensor on the wall. After fishing for my last two quarters, I was able to procure 2 very large...and hopefully VERY absorbant pads....which I promptly shoved into my son's pants.....looked ridiculus...but prayed they would do the trick while I got my ultrasound done....

They lasted all of the first 4 minutes....

As we walked out of the office....I felt like the worst mother in the world.....with my poor son having pee-peed his pants....

My newest thought? Keep extra diapers in the car....just in case.....I'm pretty sure that's what MacGyver would do.

Oh my gosh! Horrible. I'm so sorry that happened. I highly doubt I would've even been that clever. Ugh - the things we go through. I definitely think diapers in the car is a great idea!

LOL!! I'm so sorry-- I can't believe the OB's office didn't have a stray diaper or two stashed somewhere, it's not like they don't have moms of young children in there all the time! I would have gone for the pads and paper towels as well. I keep spare diapers in the car but you have to remember to "upgrade" them when your child moves to a new size! : )

Visiting from SITS. Happy Wednesday!

Been there, done that. Well, not the pad thing, cause I wasn't even prepared enough to have quarters. She just went commando and eventually peed her pants. Mom of the year, that's me!

i keep extra diapers in the console of my car...some at my mom's house, my mom-in-law's house, in every purse, diaper bag, and backpack that i own....and i've STILL found myself without a diaper on occassion. for all those stupid phone apps that you can get nowadays...where's the one that can lead you to the nearest mommy who has a size 3 diaper? (or size 5! i, unfortunately, still have TWO kiddos in diapers....which just doubles my odds of being without one.)

I think you should have sat him on the receptionists lap. Who does she think she is? She works in a freaking place where things like this happen and should be understood!

Oh no! Haven't done that... yet!

I've totally been there! I have to say, I wasn't as resourceful as you :0) Good job getting through that milestone!

I agree extra diapers in the car are a must, but like pink and green mama said, it is hard to remember to change out the too small diapers for larger ones when you kid outgrows them. BUT a too small diaper is better then none, maybe.

Lesson learned though, you wont forget again!

Wow. I think MacGyver would have been proud of you. That is a resourceful Mom at her best.

Oh no!! I agree, I can't believe the ob didn't have a diaper or two laying around. I kept a spare diaper in the car for exactly that reason... which reminds me I need to restock it and add one for Abby too!!
