Which Is why the Amazing Companies who did come through for me...and the amazing winner....have been featured over the last 15 days along with a finalist!
Then....a few days ago...I received an email from an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G jewelry desginer on Etsy, who asked if I was still needing products....I can't tell you how excited I was....or am for that matter........

5. What is probably the best mom story you have?
Oh we've got lots of those. I would say the times I'm most proud of myself is when I know my kids are sick before they know they're sick. I'll take their temps and then be like "mmhmm I KNEW IT!!!" Nevermind the fact that for every one time I'm right, I'm wrong 40 others. The temperature will read normal and then I'll be like, "well then I don't know what your problem is". I like to focus on the right times. :)
6. What do you plan on doing if you win our Mommy Blog of the Year Contest? (Going to Disneyland?)
I plan on my husband celebrating my glory by treating me to a movie and sushi and showering me with Andes mints. Can someone send him the memo??
7. What do you want the public/readers to know about you?
That I'm only offensive if you take me seriously. I'm sarcastic and I don't do drugs.
I can imagine picking 3 fave posts was extremely difficult...but here are Mama Kat's three fave's....
Dear Ellen (Letter #7) - Man if Ellen didn't snag you after this letter....she's a crazy lady!!!
Magic Whistle - If only I could find my magic cure....

Finalist(s) #5: Meet The Fab Fatties

I received quite a few nods for these two ladies.....and am glad they did get nominated....These sassy chica's...help, support and talk about issues that so many other mama's are going through....as well as adding in fabulous family stories that are so relatable....I love their honesty....approach.....and demeanor......
Keeping it real, being honest, and being able to laugh at yourself and life.
2. What traits do you think our mommy blogger of the year should possess?
Fab Fattie charm lol, whit, sense of humor, well rounded and cover a variety of topics, yet represent the real life of an everyday mom.
3. Why are mommy bloggers so imporant today?
It is reassuring to see that mommies, no matter where they are, they are dealing with the same things. Mommy bloggers offer support, friendship, and encouragement.
4. If you were stuck on a desereted island...what 3 things would you take?
Shannon:
Chocolate, Twilight and a cell phone.
Angie:
Lap top, Chris Daughtry and nail polish.
5. What is probably the best mom story you have?
Shannon:This story still makes me laugh I just have to choose this one:
I have to share this story. Last night Carson had a friends birthday party and Lawrence took care of everything and got him to the party. When I got home I asked Lawrence how it went. He started telling me about how proud of Carson he was. When they were getting the present together for his friend, Carson said he wanted to make a card all by himself so Lawrence let him do it. When Carson got done Lawrence read the card. He could not believe how nice it was. When I got home that is the first thing Lawrence told me about and he said some of the things that were on it and how proud he was of Carson for being so sweet. The only thing was that he wished he would have made a copy of it to show me. We sat and talked about how great our kid is and it was a shame I did not get to see the card. While we were talking I noticed a pile of papers on the table. In the pile was a birthday card Carson got from Grandma and Grandpa in July. I opened it and started reading it. I asked Lawrence if this is what Carson’s super sweet card to his friend said. He looked at it and we both started laughing. When we finally were able to talk again after laughing so much the first thing I said was “you should know better than that his la st name is Lavery!” When Carson came in I said “I heard you made a nice card for your friend.” He then replied “yeah I copied it out of my card because I could never spell all of that right by myself!”We are still laughing about this!Lesson to us…1st-never think a Lavery can come up with all of that nice stuff by himself.2nd even if he did he would not share it with anyone.3rd if the spelling is correct he cheated!
Angie: There is always the typical... kid pulling my shirt so far down in the front Playboy looks modest, toddler calling the wrong man daddy really loud in the store, screaming tempertantrums in the store, and so many more, but the story that stick out to me the most and is one that really made me feel like a mommy was after I had my second child I was watching a show on TV with my oldest, then 3 1/2 years old. He laughed and said "look at that big fat ghost." It made me wonder what he thought about me and my size. I said "Is mommy fat like that ghost?" He responded "no". I then asked "is mommy skinny?" I was hoping for a yes and he responded "no". Okay... I then asked "Well, what is mommy?" I will never forget his response and it truly changed the way I think about myself. He said "you're a mommy" like I was silly to even ask. I relized he doesn't care if my body isn't perfect... he loves me for who I am=2 0and because I love him. Children are amazing and really love people for what's inside their hearts and not what the world sees.
6. What do you plan on doing if you win our Mommy Blog of the Year Contest? (Going to Disneyland?)
Shannon:
Going through the gift bag and taking first pick before Angie gets chance to see it.
Angie:
Get a shirt printed that says Mommy Blogger of the Year before Shannon gets the idea! :)

Finalist #4: Meet Alicia @ It Ain't Easy Being Cheesy
2. What traits do you think our mommy blogger of the year should possess?
3. Why are mommy bloggers so important today?
4. If you were stuck on a deserted island...what 3 things would you take?
- My fully charged blackberry so I could blog to my hearts content until my battery died.- A roll of toilet paper because wiping with leaves just isn't for me!
5. What is probably the best mom story you have?
I would have to say the day that I packed my car with my baby and what ever belongings I could manage to fit and left my old life behind me. I left the old life of heartache for the new life of uncertainties and promise and never looked back. To this day, it has been hands down, the best choice I have ever made for my son, and for my children that followed.
6. What do you plan on doing if you win our Mommy Blog of the Year Contest? (Going to Disneyland?)
I'd dust off my tiara and place it firmly on my well coiffed hair. Then I'd write a fabulous post all about how I was the winner winner chicken dinner and thank all the fabulous folks that voted for me. After that I'd call the mayor of our sweet little city and let them know that it was ok with me if they wanted to dedicate September 1st to me (which of course they would). The mayor would even throw in a parade with ticker tape and present me with a key to the city. I'd throw a little party on my blog with a fantastic giveaway for all my awesome readers and I'd end the night with my amazing family and closest friends eating otter pops and downing red bull....and maybe some chips and salsa.
7. What do you want the public/readers to know about you?
I want them to know that I'm so grateful for their support. I'm so humbled that they continue to read my horror stories about explosive diapers, IBS, and my desire to have chocolate covered midol! I hope they know that despite the raunchy humor and the crazy antics I'm also a well grounded person! I'm not completely insane. I hold strong values and beliefs and hope that they can take that away, as well as a laugh or two. I also want them to know that I can make an amazing impersonation of a chicken. It's pretty much spot on. I'm just sayin'.

Finalist # 3 : Meet the Redhead Riter

If you haven't met the Redhead Riter already.....I'm not quite sure which part of the blogosphere you've been hanging out in....I don't think there are too many blogs I've stopped by...where I haven't seen this lovely lady's avatar smiling two comments ahead of me....She is truly fabulous...and I think she sums it up well in her about me:
I have gained an appreciation for Living Every Moment...from hectic demands of deadlines at work, experiences encountered from a child growing up, to the peaceful moments alone. I'm a happy mom and wife that loves to spend time with my family.
I think that deserves putting her in our top spots...what do you think?
Here are her answers to my E! newsworthy questions:
1. In your opinion, what makes a great, readable blog?
A great, readable blog has a distinct style that flows well from one thought to another. Not only does it include subjects that I am very familiar, but also includes topics that I know nothing about and yet the blogger still holds my attention. I also enjoy at least one relatable picture with the postings. It offers more than just a history, but provides a perspective or insight that I can take away for my betterment.
2. What traits do you think our mommy blogger of the year should possess?
I think that the Mommy Blogger of The Year should post daily, honest and relatable posts which show her personality without always having to say "This is me!" She should be able to draw you into her story and then give you a twist with something unexpected to make it a memorable reading. The Mommy Blogger of The Year should include information about people and events other than those of her family and celebrate the accomplishments of the people in the world in which we all live.
3. Why are mommy bloggers so important today?
I believe mommy bloggers are setting the "new tone" of writing and reporting history, the future and advertising. It has been proven that when enough mommy bloggers band together, "things change." It has once again become the era of "I am woman, hear me roar!" Women CAN make a difference!
4. If you were stuck on a deserted island...what 3 things would you take?
I assume since you said "things" you didn't mean "people" so…
Pots/pans
Soap
Towels/Blankets
If "things" can include people, then my list would be like this…
Family
Pots/pans
Soap
I want us to eat and be clean! I mean really, I don't want to stink!
5. What is probably the best mom story you have?
Oh my! I have sixteen years of mommy stories and each one is a priceless moment. I believe Alyssa's birth and the moments following were almost surreal. The recollection of the events leading to those moments still bring me to tears of joy and thankfulness. If you want a story when she was a little older, it would have to be about the day I found her name on the bathroom wall. Do you want me to tell you the latter story? If not, just delete it...When Alyssa was four years old, we lived in a one-story, brick home in Texas . I was a very happy and fulfilled stay-at-home-mom. Since I was only able to have one child, I did not want to miss a second of her sweet little life. I also couldn't bear to be away from her, so I never left her with a babysitter and took her everywhere with me. We were stuck together all the time and I was her favorite play partner because I didn't have a problem sharing and would play the same thing for hours on end. This drove most people crazy, but I didn't care and she didn't either.
On one particularly hot summer day, she was wearing a dark blue sleeveless dress with her white blonde hair in a funny ponytail sticking off the top her head. I had finished cleaning the kitchen and knew that she was getting the toys ready for us to make a Barbie city in the living room, so I needed to have a little visit to the "ladies' room." As I sat down, I noticed that a GIANT letter "A" was peeking out from the wall behind the door. I closed the door and there on the wall, written in giant blue twelve inch high letters was the name "ALYSSA." Never before had she ever written on anything other than paper, so I couldn't believe my eyes!
After a moment of shock, I called for her...
"Alyssa. Can you come to the bathroom for a minute?"
"Coming Mommy."
I let her into the bathroom and closed the door so that the wall was fully exposed. Looking into her smiling face, I asked, "Did you do this?" fully expecting her to lie.
With a sparkle in her big brown eyes, she proudly said, "Yes Mommy!"
I was surprised by her happiness. "Well...Alyssa," I said, "Why did you write your name on the wall?"
"I wanted to see what my name looked like reallllllly big," she said as she spread both her arms out wide to show me just how big she wanted her name to be written.
"Do you like your name?"
"Yes!"
I wanted to laugh. "Well, Mommy is going to buy you some reallllly big paper, okay?"
"Okay Mommy."
"So don't write on the wall any more, okay?"
"Okay, Mommy. Are you going to write your name on the wall too before you get the paper?"
"No, I will wait to write my name really big on the paper."
Her huge uneven letters remained behind the bathroom door for quite a while, announcing to anyone in the bathroom that Alyssa liked her name and she liked it when it was written really big...especially if it was written with a blue crayon on the bathroom wall.
6. What do you plan on doing if you win our Mommy Blog of the Year Contest? (Going to Disneyland ?)
I will enlarge the award, print it on the finest paper available, buy an expensive frame, and hang it in a prominent place in our home so that not only our visitors will see it, but so that Alyssa will see it daily and be reminded that my awesome mommy-ness is greater than my nerdiness.
7. What do you want the public/readers to know about you?
No matter how much success I may have in my future or have had in my past, my greatest accomplishment is being Alyssa's mother. She is everything I could ever want in a daughter and her kind, gentle, compassionate spirit has helped to make me a better person. Any sacrifices I have made on her behalf have been worth it and I would do it all over again just to ensure her happiness and success. I hope that by sharing all the things I have learned, some through terrible heartaches, that I will not only help my daughter but also other people. I am a tenderhearted woman with a huge capacity to love and hope to share my life in an effort to make at least one person's burden lighter and give them hope or strength to carry on another day.

Finalist #1 - Meet Carolyn @ Team Boo
I have to admit....the first time I ever came across the Blog entitled Team Boo...was seeing her nomination....and I am so sad it took me so long to be introduced....I LOVE Carolyn...and the way she looks at her life....honesty, humour...and poo.....having lunch with her would be a stitch!!Thank you Brooke over at Brooke in Wonderland for showing us the fabulousness that is Team Boo!!!
A very deserving Mommy Nominee to Be sure
Here are the probing questions....all inquiring minds would like to know
1. In your opinion, what makes a great, readable blog?
(I am drawn to simple and aesthetically pleasing blogs who's posts aren't too long,..and my favorites usually involve some amount of humor. I don't usually like when people take themselves too seriously, or talk about cupcakes too much.)
2. What traits do you think our mommy blogger of the year should possess?
(First off, her body should be scarred and flabby in one way or another. Because anyone who didn't get stretch marks and/or a flabby butt still needs time to marinate as a mother ;) Also I think she should be inspiring in some way...gets people's brains rolling...makes people with and without children know life can still be fulfilling and awesome after kids.)
3. Why are mommy bloggers so imporant today?
(because we have thankless jobs, and there are thousands of us who want to tell our stories...albeit unflattering and sometimes disgusting, we need each other as sounding boards for ways to cope with the tricks that the universe plays on us daily)
4. If you were stuck on a desereted island...what 3 things would you take?
(besides people...my sunscreen, my buffalo blanket, and as many fruit roll ups as i could stuff in my pockets)
5. What is probably the best/worst mom story you have?
(the one while about 8 months pregnant with my first child: One night I went to sit on the edge of my bed to talk to my husband. Underestimating my size and lack of coordination, I rolled off and fell on the ground causing me to fart and then of pee my pants for the seventh time that day. I felt like such an big oaf that i then started to cry uncontrollably...on the floor...in what was surely my last pair of dry pants. Pregnancy really knows how to keep vanity in check ;)
6. What do you plan on doing if you win our Mommy Blog of the Year Contest? (Going to Disneyland?)
(if i were to win this award i would roll around on my bed naked in all the free stuff and then re name my blog "all who don't appreciate my motherly goodness can suck it"...Really though I'd probably just feel more guilty every time i fed my kids cereal for dinner ;)
7. What do you want the public/readers to know about you?
(That I don't ever want to pretend i am something i am not, I am a total sucker for my kids, and that in terms of "motherly battle wound credibility"...I am all set.)
See What Team Boo is All About HERE
Butta Face -So Funny...and so true....We should all be careful what we wish for
Selling My Soul - I think she's summed up pretty well all the reasons I blog
Oh Irony -"if only they could see me now"
And Don't forget....voting begins today check out the poll on the right side of the blog!!!
Well of Creations: Is generously donating one of her Amazing Totes....a Great Piece for our winner to use while out and about...being a mommy of the year!!
